Experience Haydn’s wit, innovation, and enduring legacy as we uncover the story of the Father of the String Quartet.
Presented by much-loved ABC broadcaster Genevieve Lang and the renowned AHE Quartet, this captivating event takes you on a journey through Haydn’s transformation of the string quartet—from its charming beginnings to the masterpieces that redefined chamber music.
Featuring live performances of excerpts from a range of Haydn’s works spanning his Op. 1 up to Op. 77, this hour-long program offers a rare opportunity to explore how Haydn’s compositional style evolved over time, as he became the acknowledged master of the form and the Father of the String Quartet.
